Singapore Experiential Visit

Singapore Experiential Visit (SEV) is a programme which helps to enrich new citizens’ understanding of the key milestones in Singapore’s history and development, deepen their appreciation of Singaporean social norms and values, and provide opportunities for meaningful interaction with their local community. It comprises both online and experiential components, and culminates in a citizenship ceremony to officially welcome new citizens as full fledged members of the Singaporean family. This programme is proudly brought to you by the National Heritage Board (NHB), with Lionheartlanders Pte Ltd as the officially appointed tour operator.

Tour Synopsis

 

The SEV serves to deepen new citizens’ understanding of our nation-building efforts, current challenges that we face and our vision for the future, by visiting key institutions. Each SEV consists of a three to four (3-4) hour visit to learning sites as follows:

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SINGAPORE & NEWATER VISITOR CENTRE

The National Museum of Singapore offers a captivating journey through Singapore’s past and present. As the city’s oldest and most iconic museum, visitors can explore over 700 years of history, from ancient times to the contemporary era. Within its walls, you’ll encounter sculptures, paintings, drawings, and archaeological finds that illuminate the rich tapestry of Singaporean and global narratives.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SINGAPORE

NEWATER VISITOR CENTRE

The NEWater Visitor Centre (NVC) serves as an educational hub, promoting water sustainability in Singapore while shedding light on the production process of NEWater. Visitors of all ages can engage in interactive tours and participate in enriching workshops. At the NVC, you’ll discover how water molecules undergo treatment, explore membrane and ultraviolet technologies that ensure NEWater’s cleanliness, and gain insights into Singapore’s waterways.

INDIAN HERITAGE CENTRE & SINGAPORE MOBILITY GALLERY (LTA)

The Indian Heritage Centre (IHC) traces the history of the Indian and South Asian communities in the Southeast Asian region. This cultural hub invites you to explore the rich heritage and diverse narratives of Indian Singaporeans. Within its 3,090 square meters of space, the IHC houses captivating exhibitions, artifacts, and interactive displays that shed light on various aspects of Indian culture, migration, and contributions to Singapore’s development.

SINGAPORE MOBILITY GALLERY (LTA)

The SG Mobility Gallery offers an intriguing glimpse into LTA’s intricate planning, design, and construction processes for Singapore’s land transport system. This immersive experience invites you to discover the hat of a transport planner, engaging in interactive activities and multi-sensory exhibits. As you explore the seven exhibition zones, you’ll discover how LTA harmonizes efficiency, liveability, and inclusivity while harnessing technology for smarter urban mobility.

URA GALLERY & FORMER FORD FACTORY

URA GALLERY

The Singapore City Gallery, formerly known as the URA Gallery, resides within The URA Centre in Singapore. This three-story visitor center provides a captivating journey through Singapore’s urban transformation, spanning from its fledgling days in the 1960s to its current status as one of Asia’s most liveable cities. Through immersive exhibits and interactive displays, visitors explore urban planning challenges and the innovative solutions that address them.

FORMER FORD FACTORY

The Former Ford Factory, also known as the Old Ford Motor Factory, holds historical significance as the site where the British Army surrendered to the Imperial Japanese Army on February 15, 1942, after the Battle of Singapore. You can explore its transformation over time, from its automotive origins to its role in World War II history. The exhibition within the factory provides fresh perspectives on the fall of Singapore, shedding light on Japanese aggression, British defenses, and the impact on civilians caught up in the larger forces of imperial struggle and war. Additionally, it offers insights into post-war reconstruction challenges and the enduring legacies of the war.

SINGAPORE MARITIME GALLERY

Interactive exhibits showcase replicas of lighthouses, ship models, and the dynamic fusion of tradition and technology. You’ll gain insights into the origins, evolution, and challenges of Singapore’s maritime trade, all while experiencing the exciting possibilities that shape the industry’s future.

SECURITY DEPARTMENT (ISD) HERITAGE CENTRE

The Internal Security Department (ISD) Heritage Centre offers visitors insights into Singapore's internal security history through various exhibits and interactive displays. The center provides valuable lessons on the importance of maintaining a balance between security measures and individual rights, as well as the ongoing efforts required to adapt to changing threats in a complex security landscape.

OUR SINGAPORE ARMY EXPERIENCE

Our Army Experiential Visit provides an immersive glimpse into life within an Army Camp. Visitors encounter captivating ground displays, engage in hands-on activities, and experience adrenaline-pumping live-firing demonstrations. You can gain insights into the commitment and professionalism of our soldiers, as well as the multifaceted functions and operational capabilities that contribute to Singapore’s defense and security.
